This body one of a continuing series in Lung Biology in Health and Disease, vol 61 Cytokines of the Lung has four parts: Mitogenic Cytokines, Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines, Cytokines in the Lung and Cytokines With Special drifts Within each part, there are several chapters for a total of 16 which include subdues such as platelet-derived growth factor, cell-like expansion factors, transform and growth factor beta, IL-6 and IL-8, tumor necrosis factor, and cytokine binding proteins, to name a hardly any This volume continues in the tradition of other issues of Lung Biology in Health and Disease at assembling contributors (31 in all) who are all highly venerateed in their fields.
Each chapter in this whirl contains a brief introduction followed through a history and discussions of biochemical and molecular biologic characteristics of these individual cytokines. Also included are extensive descriptions relative to gene and their transcripts, receptors, binding proteins, and actions of the cytokines. The last section in each chapter is usually devot to the parts of these substances in protoplasts of animal and human disease. In many cases, there is a discussion of a possible part for these cytokines as therapeutic agents.
Despite this body representing a rapidly changing area of pulmonary research, the hints are in-depth and current. It should be emphasized that the primary focus of this clause is the discussion of the biochemistry and molecular biology with les emphasis onward the roles of these cytokines in originals of disease.
This thesis will likely be of interest to individuals interested in broad areas of pulmonary research, including the areas of connective tissue form and function, inflammation, and immunology. Researchers, the two established and in training, looking for concise and total descriptions of cytokines as they relate to the lung will likely find this volume especially useful.
